In 1982, Amy Lacombe earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French Literature. But her love of art and color would eventually set her on a career path more similar to Matisse than Voltaire. In 1984, Lacombe started her own business creating ceramic jewelry and giftware. Visitors to her Los Angeles home and studio have described it as "an explosion at the Crayola factory" and a place where you just can't be unhappy. Both assertions are clearly reflected in her collection of whimsical cat figures. These colorful, fantastical felines can't help but bring a smile to any face and sunshine into any room. Each of Lacombe's ceramic cats is hand-formed, hand-painted and kiln-fired two to three times. Her works are featured in galleries across the United States and in Japan.
