Sure, CATS 'N' DOGS is America's leading cat-and-dog-themed gift shop (we said modestly), but let's never forget what it's really all about: Cats and Dogs. With that in mind, we feature toys, treats, and grooming products designed for the benefit of our favorite animals and nobody else. Our catalog section for cats features a catnip cigar like no other, Kitty Kaviar treats that may spoil your kitty from eating those famous-brand supermarket treats ever again, and other fun products. But our favorite cat toy remains Video Catnip, a 25-minute-long video for cats originally produced more than 10 years ago that continues, virtually without exception, to fascinate felines over and over again. The video stars various birds and squirrels doing the things they do. The soundtrack features birds singing. Regardless of where your cats are in the house, and regardless of what they're doing (resting?), as soon as they hear the theme song to this video they will rush to line up in front of the TV. Some people who know how to program their VCRs for continuous play leave the tape on all day to prevent separation anxiety. We don't know how to do that, so we play it about twice a week, as a treat. |
